Learners have the unique opportunity; if they present clear knowledge skills & abilities to move from our SLD provision to our MLD provision within Carshalton College, thus more able learners could consider the following courses:

Study and Life Preparation

Vocational Preparation

Other information

It is anticipated that each group will have a maximum of 10 students. The majority of lessons will be delivered in our new provision, the Mavis Peart building; this offers a safe and quieter environment for learners with SLD.  Students will be assigned a personal tutor who will be the key contact person between home and college; leading the learner’s personal tutorials and offering pastoral support as necessary. The personal tutor will have direct teaching time with their tutees too, gaining a clearer understanding of their abilities, aspirations and support needs.

Learning support is also provided, up to two staff per group as learner needs dictate, e.g. 1-1 if required.
