Cllr Mr T Brett Young
Cllr Tony Brett Young is lead member on Sutton Council for Children, Young People and Learning Services and for Communications. He is also the Council's Young People's Champion. Tony was first elected to Sutton Council in 1986 but stood down after four years for family and work reasons. He was re-elected as member for Stonecot Ward in 2002 and since then has been chair of the Environmental Services Performance Committee (2002-04), Mayor (2004-05) and lead councillor for Adult Social Care and Heath Services (2005-06). He is a governor a Greenshaw High School and Chair of its Facilities Sub-Committee.Tony has worked all his professional life in media and public affairs, originally with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation news service, and most recently as Head of Public Affairs and chief government spokesman at the Australian High Commission in London.He has a keen interest in young people's issues especially development through play, recreation and good health.
