Description of the Course

The training (if required) will take ½ a day and the assessment ½ a day. This is a stand alone assessment which concentrates on gas appliance combustion performance (CO or CO2 ratio) and does not assess CO or CO2 levels in buildings.

Course content

The course will train you to a level of competence needed to carryout a successful combustion performance analysis using electronic combustion testing equipment, when installing and maintaining gas burning appliances in accordance with the current standards. This will include instruction and guidance on the application and use of suitable sampling probes.


Assessment

You will be required to carry out a combustion performance analysis on open flue flued, room sealed and a flueless gas appliance to confirm that they are operating in a safe or unsafe manner.

 

(Operatives may bring their own analysis equipment in for use during the assessment, provided that is has a current certificate of calibration)


Who is the course for?

For existing and new registered gas installation or servicing engineers who hold CCN1 Core Gas Safety and one of either CEN1 (Boilers), CKR1 (Cookers) or HTR1 (Fires)
