One year, students can enrol on a unit by unit basis.

Description of the course

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is the professional organisation for accounting technicians. It provides  recognised qualifications and is a membership body for accounting support staff working in accounting practice, industry and commerce and the public sector. If you are working in an accounting environment then an apprenticeship may be available.

The programme consists of five learning areas:

  • Processing Book-keeping transactions
  • Control Accounts, Journals and Banking Systems
  • Basic Costing.
  • Working effectively in accounting and finance.
  • Computerised Accounting - Case Study

There are no formal entry requirements but applicants will have to demonstrate that they have the numerical and communication skills necessary for successful completion of the course.

Students can study individual units if desired.

Students who are working, or want to work, in the accounting industry.

Books will cost approximately £50, AAT Membership £88.
