Being a student at Carshalton College...

As a student at Carshalton College you will be busy with lessons, but be warned, your social life is about to get a whole lot busier too!

New for 2010 our exciting Pulse Health and Fitness Centre opened in September 2010.  Students have exclusive use of the sports hall during the day. The hall can be used for a variety of sports, including badminton, netball, 5-a-side football and basketball. The hall provides an exciting venue for entertainment events such as concerts, dance demonstrations and award ceremonies.

The student common room is available for all students plus a fully equipped games room with table tennis and a pool table.

Students will be able to take up membership to access all the fitness centre facilities although swimming sessions and use of the fitness machines and dance studios will be arranged as part of course timetables.

Enrichment Activities

Our team of staff runs a weekly programme of Enrichment activities. All students as part of their programme of study are required to participate in at least one of these activities. Activities range from Professional Face and Body Art, learning how to play the drums or getting involved in the student magazine. You are free to try them all.

If sport is more your thing then you can fill some of your spare time joining the basketball or football teams, having a go at trampolining or playing badminton. This is a great opportunity to make new friends with other students and learn some new skills. The College is always on hand to assist you with a range
of extra-curricular activities. This can be anything from helping you get work experience to helping with your university applications.

As a full-time student you can apply to become a member of the Carshalton College Student Union. Elected Student Union Officers get together to discuss current issues and plan student events. Trips to Theme Parks,

Dance Nights, BBQs and Fundraising make an appearance on the annual events calendar. An NUS card costs just £10 and will entitle you to a number of discounts such as the cinema and music.

The common room

As you can see, there is a wide range of recreational and sporting activities waiting for you, or you can just chill out in the Common Room, listen to music, watch TV or have a go on the Nintendo Wii, Xbox or PlayStation.
