VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques (16-18 years)

This course offers the opportunity to develop skills in beauty therapy providing the foundation for a range of work opportunities in an industry which is dedicated to helping people look and feel their best. Practical skills are developed in the industry standard commercial salon when working on clients.

Students also develop critical skills such as communication, customer service and teamwork to support progression to the next level or into employment.

  • Entry Requirements


    We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

    You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

    4 x GCSE's at 3/4 or above, or a Level 1 Diploma in a relevant subject.

    Your GCSE profile must include either maths and / or English , or a Functional Skills qualification in maths and / or English.

    For applicants aged 19 or over please refer to the VTCT L2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Adults).

    Practical work takes place in the College's purpose built beauty salons, providing a realistic working environment where treatments are performed on paying clients. Guest lecturers from product companies, enrichment trips complement the study programme.

    This qualification involves practical and written examinations.

    Please note that from September 2014 all Level 2 programmes nationally will also include the delivery of English and Maths GCSE for all applicants with grade 3 in these subjects at entry.

  • Additional Information


    September start. One year - full time. (Range from 2 - 5 days depending on GCSE's).

    Students will be expected to undertake a 5-day work experience placement during the first term on the course. Early application is advisable as these courses are popular.
