Certificate in Counselling Skills - Level 2

If you're considering a career in counselling or want to enhance your role in the work place, you will learn a range of counselling skills on this course. At the end of the course you should be able to apply the skills you have learnt in a counselling session and understand their relevance to practice.

There are two groups and this course runs on either Monday or Tuesday evening 6-9pm. Occasionally you will have a 1:1 progress review with your tutor and so will need to come in earlier between5-6pm.

  • Entry Requirements


    You will need to have completed an Introduction to Counselling course before undertaking this programme. We offer a short distance learning course which can be completed in 7 weeks.

  • Progression Next Steps


    You can move onto the Level 3 Counselling Skills course, which is regulated by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) .

  • Course Structure


    As well as being introduced to the basics of relevant counselling theory you'll focus on developing a range of counselling skills and developing self awareness as a practitioner.

  • Assessment Details


    Includes self-assessment and peer evaluation. You should schedule around two hours per week of personal study time outside of the normal hours to enhance your own development on the course. You must pass both the internal and external assessment.
