Please see below course description website: This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development. This qualification is suitable for any learners who are thinking of working in a school setting.

  • Course Content


    To achieve the Award the learner must complete 3 units. The units covered are:

    • Understand schools as organisations
    • Understand how to keep children healthy, safe and well
    • Understand how to communicate with children, young people and adult

    You could join a Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 2 course (Teaching Assistant course) or other similar Level 2 course.

  • Assessment Details


    This qualification will be internally assessed through three short written assignments which can be hand written or word processed. You will not be required to write essays as part of this course. The majority of written work will be completed during lesson time.
