BTEC Entry Level Award in Art & Design (E3) This course gives you a general introduction to Art & Design. On the course you develop skills in a variety of Art & Design areas, including painting, drawing and 3D work. You will also work towards Functional Skills in Communication.

BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design and Media This course enables you to develop basic practical skills in Art, Design and Media. The main focus of the course is in drawing and design, creative use of computers, animation and three-dimensional artwork, with a small written element closely supporting practical study. You will also work towards Key Skills in Communication, AON and IT.

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design This course enables you to develop your practical skills in Art and Design and Multimedia. The main focus of the course is in drawing and painting, two and three-dimensional artwork, with additional units in graphic design and multimedia computing. Written work closely supports practical study.

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design This course is a practical work related alternative to more theoretical 'A' levels. Employers, Universities and Higher Education Colleges recognise successful completion of this course as equivalent to three 'A2' Level qualifications.

FOUNDATION DIPLOMA IN ART & DESIGN (FAD) Level 4

The Foundation Diploma in Art and Design is a one year intensive course designed to maximise your opportunities to learn through discovery, experimentation and exploration.  This is a course that is transitional in experience and intention and will expect you to be receptive to new ideas, media and ways of learning.

Its main overarching aim is to prepare you to the highest level possible for progression to BA Hons or Foundation Degree or, to a work opportunity. 

This is achieved by a combination of diagnostic and specialist pathways which reflect the opportunities available at degree level nationally. Through these pathways you will be able to develop your subject specific portfolio in preparation for degree course applications.
