2.BTEC L1 FL Diploma in 'Caring for Children  

This is a full time, Level 1 course which provides an introduction to working with children between the ages of 0 to 8 years. You will undertake part of your course at Carshalton College and will also be given the opportunity to attend a one day work placement  within the community so that you will gain experience with pre school age children.

Foundation Learning is the new format for Entry Level and Level One programs, it is made up of  a BTEC Diploma in Caring for Children, a BTEC Award in Personal and Social Development, a BTEC Certificate in Work Skills and Functional Skills in Maths, English and ICT.

3.CACHE - L2 Award/Cert/Dip in Childcare & Education This is a full time, level 2 course which provides a basic training for those who wish to work with children between the ages of 0 to 16 years. You will have the opportunity to work under supervision, in schools, nurseries, creches and playgroups. It forms the preparation for the Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education (DCCE) and satisfactory completion will allow you access onto the Diploma. You will undertake part of your course at college and part in training placements in the community so that you will gain experience with all age groups.

4.CACHE Level 3 Award/Cert/Dip in Childcare & Education This is a demanding full time course which provides a thorough training for those who wish to work with children aged 0-16 years in schools, nurseries, creches playgroups. It is also recognised in many places abroad if you wish to work outside the UK. You will undertake part of your course at college and part in training placements in the community so that you will gain experience with all age groups.

BTEC Foundation Learning Entry 3 Care and Early Years BTEC Entry Level Awards in Caring for Children and Health and Social Care introduces learners to the skills they need to work in a career area with children, families, social work, nursing and working with the elderly. This is the first qualifications that can  set learners on the way to further training or eventually employment.
