Description of the Course

You will study 6 units in Sport and Public Services which will prepare you to work in the Sport or Public Services industries. You may also choose to continue onto either the Level 1 Sport or L1 Public Service courses. Alongside these units you will also study for a BTEC E3 Certificate in both Workskills and Personal and Social Development.


Course content

The units you will study are:

•      Taking Part in Sports

•      Improving Own Fitness

•      Safe Learning in the Workplace

•      Group Project

•      Searching for a Job

•      Wellbeing and Fitness

 

•      E3 Certificate in Personal and Social Development

•      E3 Certificate in Workskills

                   Entry Level qualifications in Functional Maths/English and ICT

Assessment

All units are assessed and graded and an overall grade for the qualifications is awarded. All assessment is done through coursework and practical tasks.


Who is the course for?

This course is designed for young people who want to progress onto Level 1 College courses, but do not have the required grades at this time. The course will also help learners develop their English, Maths and ICT skills and gain an Entry Level qualification in their area of interest.


Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. You will be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview.

 


What can I do after this course?

After successful completion of the course, learners will be able to apply for Level 1 course subject to interview. If you want information on Level 1 courses, please contact Customer Services.


Other information

Tuition, exam and registration fees not applicable to students aged 19 and under. However, students aged 19 and over maybe eligible for an adult learning grant.

You may be required to purchase a travel card for additional visits that may be arranged during the year.
