Description of the Course
This course gives you a general introduction to Art & Design. On the course you develop skills in a variety of Art & Design areas, including painting, drawing and 3D work. You will also work towards Functional Skills in Communication.
Course content
The main elements of the course:
- Drawing and painting
- Two and three dimensional design work
- Using materials and techniques
- Exploring others work
- Preparing for employment
- Textiles and graphics
- Health and Safety
- Media
Assessment
Most of the course is continuously assessd. Some units are externally assessed. For courework, students have some written work, and evalutations shoqing some evidence of planning research and organisation.
Who is the course for?
The course is aimed at those who have some interest in Art & Design, and would like to progress to a 1st Diploma in Art and Design.
Entry requirements
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, students are expected to have the enthusiasm and willingness to learn and the ambition to obtain further education, training and employment. You will need to attend a short interview.
