This course is normally full time for 32 weeks plus work experience

Description of the Course

This course will help you develop skills in managing and supervising staff and resources whilst working in a kitchen.

Course content

Preparation, cooking and finishing complex dishes in line with the criteria of a NVQ at this level.
  • Written portfolio in support of practical classes.
  • Competancy driven qualification - no external exam

Assessment

Assessment will be based on observation of your practical skills and the completion of a portfolio which includes evidence of your understanding of the theory as well as the practical aspects of your work.

Who is the course for?

The course is ideal for those who already have experience or qualifications as a chef and want to develop more complex and varied cooking skills. This course is also ideal for someone working in a kitchen in a supervisory role who needs to use more advanced and complex cooking techniques.

Entry requirements

An Average Grade Point on prior qualifications of 5 or better & GCSE English or Maths grade A-C. You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and skills in an interview. Level 2 NVQ is also a requirement.
