BTEC L1 Introductory Diploma in Business (EDEXCEL)

This course is perfect if you want to take the first steps towards a career in business, by developing a range of skills across different areas of the workplace.

You will learn the basics of good business practice, developing your skills in areas such as being organised, working with others, plus researching a topic, which are great transferable skills for work and for future progression

Units include

Branding your business product (idea) Designing an interactive presentation - promoting your business Developing digital information using IT - creating digital advertising materials

You can expect the opportunity to demonstrate the skills you will learn in applied scenarios, with a range of assessment methods. You'll be encouraged to develop your skills along the way by supportive staff.

  • Entry Requirements


    You will need four GCSEs at grades 2 to 9, including English and mathematics.

  • Progression Next Steps


    You could follow with a Level 2 course in a subject such as Business or Administration, or you could go into a L2 Apprenticeship programme. There may be opportunities for you to pursue a subject such as IT or Travel and Tourism. Alternatively you could seek employment in the Business Administration or Retail industry

  • Assessment Details


    Ten units must be achieved, of which 4 must be taken from the Core Skills and 6 from Sector Skills. Assessments will demonstrate your skills and will involve keeping a portfolio of assignments. All units in this specification are internally assessed through course work, practical activities, leaflets, discussion and role-playing
