Level 2 CACHE Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care

The CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care will prepare you for work in health and social care by focusing on practical, work-related skills which you develop by completing projects that are based on realistic workplace situations. You will have the opportunity to carry out work experience in a variety of health and social care settings and have the chance to hear from professionals like midwifes and nurses to discuss career paths and skills needed for these different careers.

  • Entry Requirements


    We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

    You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other. This is to ensure we can support you to be able to achieve well on the course.

    4 x GCSE's at D/3 or above, or a Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject.

    Your GCSE profile must include either maths and / or English , or a Functional Skills qualification in maths and / or English.

  • Progression Next Steps


    You may progress to a Level 3 CAHCE Award/Certificate in Health and Social Care or consider further training or study in related fields such as an Apprenticeship or employment. If you are 19+ years of age, you may be able to progress to one of our Access to HE courses for example Access to Nursing or Access to Midwifery.

    There are lots of opportunities available to you to progress across the South Thames Colleges Group and into the world beyond education.
