Learning Centre
The Learning Centre supports learners through the provision of a comprehensive library service and industry standard IT suite. Students can access a wide range of resources, services and facilities to complete coursework or meet their wider information needs. Staff are always on hand to help students get the most out of the many sources of information the Learning Centre has to offer.
Features of the Learning Centre include:
• A collection of 30,000 items, both print-based and audio visual, which supports the range of courses offered by the College and also includes material of general interest.
• Library resources arranged into subject zones, allowing easy access and effective browsing of available materials.
• Electronic resources, including e-journals and e-books, which students can access both in College and off campus via the Internet.
• 100 networked computers for students to use on a drop-in basis, all of which feature Internet access and a broad range of generic and subject-specific software.
• State of the art multimedia facilities for scanning, CD and DVD production, digital image manipulation, colour printing and the use of specialist digital programs.
• Study skills workshops, where students can receive one-to-one support to help them improve their IT and research skills.
• A range of flexible study spaces, including a Silent Study Room with computer provision and a Group Study Room.
• The Professional Development Centre, a dedicated area for staff to access IT facilities and undertake training and development.
During term time the Learning Centre is open:
Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 8:00pm
Friday 10:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am – 1:00pm
During holidays the Learning Centre is open:
Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
